A family owned company for four generations, New Era’s heritage stretches all the way back to the 1920s when it first entered the market with the then on-trend ‘Gatsby’ cap. However, after the popularity of the Gatsby began to slow, the family turned their focus to baseball caps, which lead to the development of the iconic 59FIFTY fitted cap in 1954.

We recently had a quick chat with Paul Stockden, co-director of Sportmax and distributor of New Era caps in Western Australia, about what makes a New Era cap such a sought after athleisure staple.
